With the shadows of night as their cover on a frozen winter night the cats of Shinku crept into Anjuu territory. Winter was the hardest time for the tribes to deal with. While Shinkuu was dealing with it's own struggles during the season they knew it would be now when the other tribe would be at it's most vulnerable. The mountain dwelling cats filed into the cave the cats of Anjuu tribe called home. They blocked the entrance to prevent them from escaping and attacked.
The yowls of battle screeched over the lands as the two tribes went head to head in combat in the tight space. Caught off guard and already weakened by winter the tribe cats of Anjuu were defeated. The loss of life had been minimal, but cats on both sides sustained serious injuries. Pleased by their victory and to further weaken the other tribe Fallen ordered her cats to steal what prey the Anjuu tribe had gathered in storage. Fallen then set her sights on the leader threatening her into giving them a portion of their territory. Fearful for her tribe members Ginger relented and on that day Shinku gained total control of the Northern part of the West side. During this time the cats of Midori tribe had grown weak by an unknown ailment. Their medicine supplies were low as it was in the dead of winter. Breeze and a small patrol sought help from the tribe of Anjuu. It was during this time Ginger told the other leader what had transpired days before. Saddened by the news, Breeze promised an alliance to the Anjuu Tribe. The two tribes came together often to help each other through the harsh winter. |
The three tribes lived within the set of tunnels together for weeks. During this time they began to grow close and the Celestials deemed it time to stop the unnatural weather. The river that flowed through the lands had grown during this time as the lands flooded. The soils grew weak. Despite the Celestials bringing an end to the rain the damage had been done. The cliffs of the mountains collapsed creating a land slide. The shifting earth jostled the ground so fiercely that cracks began to form in the tunnels. Water began to seep into the underground caverns, the cracks only grew from the pressure until it was a full torrent of water rushing in.
There was no way for the cats to escape with the tunnels flooded. The tribe cats that were fortunate enough to be outside of the center cavern during the tunnels drowned quickly. Those that had remained in the center however, could only watch as the water rose up and up. As the freezing waters swallowed up the cats and pushed them up to the top of the cave their wails of terror echoed off the cavern walls. Ginger who had been desperately trying to save both herself and her young son was one of the first to drowned. The weight of holding up her kit above the water for so long too much for the mother. The screeches and sobs of panic were soon silenced as the final cats met their fate. It was that day that the fallen tribes, now Celestials theirselves, vowed to never let the same fate fall any other cats that came to live here. They would gift them powers over the elements to keep eachother protected and safe. |
