On a windy day in autumn a lone veiled walker, Greg, came to the lands the clans called home. He ran into the Tribe of Heather first and spoke frantically of his aging friend who lived in the barn. Though skeptical Hollow sent out a patrol to follow Greg. On the way to his farm home he spoke about his friend. He said the old she-cat said she was dying and haunted by her ancestors. That she had begged him to find the tribe cats so she could pass on her story before she died.
When they arrived at the barn they found just that; an aging, fluffy she-cat who's frame rattled with fits of coughing. In a hoarse voice the elder, Mist, spoke to them about her family. They had once been part of a lost tribe that were said to wield powers of lightning. When the tribe fell her distant grandmother had fled from the battle and made a new life. She had passed down her tales of the battle and history to her children and made them promise to keep the story alive. They had. Now that the aging she-cat was near the end of her life with no offspring of her own to pass down the tale her ancestors haunted her dreams, begging her to pass it down to the other tribes. Mist spoke to them about the past. She explained how the original fire and lighting clans fought so fiercely. Two kits had died during the battle and the opposing tribes had killed each other. There was a forest fire that was said to burn for many days. After the fire was put out the lands were wiped clean of fire and lightning elements. During her tale, Mist had grown tired. The Tribe of Heather patrol could do nothing for the elder as she finally passed away now that her peace on the earth had been made. |
On the journey home the tribe cats came across a group of loners who all followed a single cat by the name of Fox. This yellow furred tom could wield the power of fire itself. He offered the patrol a place to rest for the night. During this time they talked about their home, the tribe and their initial reasoning for coming on the journey. When morning came the patrol left, but did not foresee Fox and his band of loners following after their trail.
When the patrol returned the tribes rejoiced, but also paid respects to the two fallen clans of fire and lightning. Their calm was short lived however as the group of loners settled onto the lands as well. Fox's group was peaceful and as the tribe Overseers struggled on what to do the gifted trainees, now almost grown, decided for them. They sought out the loner in secrecy and eventually formulated a plan to recreate the two lost tribes. Fox would lead the fire tribe and Birch Water would lead the lightning one. At the next gathering Fox and his loners joined them. The trainees gathered to stand with the loner and explain their plans to the surprised Overseers. It was there at the gathering that all the tribes talked, voted and in turn agreed to allow the forming of the new elemental tribes. Fox would name his group the Tribe of Cinders and took up residence in the South Eastern part of the land. Hawk Belly gave up a small portion of the Tribe of Breeze's land for the newly formed fire one to hunt upon while their main territory was on Jagged Isle. Birch Water, formerly of the Tribe of Breeze, now had his full name and formed The Tribe of Strikes. He claimed the North Eastern mountains as their own. The trainees that wished to join the new tribes did so. Lotus Pool, Birch Water's sister and Shimmer Pool from the Tribe of Ripples would join the Tribe of Strikes. Sweet Pea too from the Tribe of Breese, sister to both Lotus Pool and Birch Water joined the clan of Cinders. The loners would split as well into the newly formed tribes. |
