The Territories
Yellow - Neutral Territory
Blue - Tribe of Ripples Orange - Tribe of Heather White - Tribe of Breeze Red- Tribe of Cinders This territory is primarily made up of mountains. Pine and fir trees dot the area. Foliage there is low growing close to the ground and there's many rocks. Prey animals is mostly hawks, small birds, mice and hares.
The Tribe of Ripples territory is flat with low rising hills. Fir and pine trees grow more thick here and foliage is high. The south of their territory is made up of a string of small islands. Their prey is primarily squirrels, voles and fish.
Tribe of Heather's territory is open and has many hills. A few trees sprout up, but very few. The grass and foliage are high here. There are a lot of wild flower patches and rocks. The prey is mostly hares, mice and occasional quail.
Tribe of Breeze's territory is a forest made up mainly of maple, oak and birch trees. The underbrush is prominent, but not as thick due to the large tree coverage. Their prey is made up of squirrels, mice and birds.
Tribe of Cinders main land territory has trees, but not as thick as the forest. It's made up of a large cliff face. The majority of their territory is on their island. Prey here is shrews, mice and fish.
Note: The Tribe of Cinder's island "Jagged Isle" is a large part of their territory and is not shown here. |
Tribe of Ripples
The Tribe of Ripples is bordered by mountains to the North and the Tribe of Breeze across the river. The territory features a variety of plant life and the ground in the more forested area is coated in pine needles. To the south the territory features small islands that have risen up from the water. The Tribe of Ripples' camp entrance is hidden by a rushing waterfall that deters most from entering other then the water elemental cats. In the middle of the territory is a large pine tree with branching roots that create a hollow. It offers nice protection and cats call it "Towering Pine".
Between Tribe of Ripples and the late Tribe of Strike is a well known patch of blueberry bushes. The cats come here when they're in season to eat a tasty treat. The borders are marked here by a sandy area that the cats have dubbed the "Sand Stretch".
There's also a cluster of rock outcroppings around this area closer to the West. It's here where battle training most often takes place. |
Neutral Lands
This unclaimed land is bordered by the Tribe of Heather to the east, separated by the river and the Tribe of Ripples to the South. The foliage here is more sparse and grows low to the ground. The majority of their territory is made up of mountains and rocky formations. A few pine and fir trees dot the landscape, but not too many. They offer shade during the hotter days and pine cones are often gathered for kits to play with. This area is the closest to the cavern where the Moon Tree is, so other clans often need to pass by to reach it. After the Tribe of Strikes fell no one has laid claim to these lands. It is now reserved as neutral territory where fighting among tribes is prohibited. The abandoned camp is used as a trading outpost, where cats cat set up shops and sell or trade goods to others.
South of the crevice is a patch of dirt. It's here where training often took place. The dirt offers good traction and softer ground if one were to tumble from a spar. They call it "The Smudge" as it looks out of place among the stone. There is a variety of rocky patches they use from time to time as well.
One of the most prominent landmarks on the territory is the "Fallen Tree". The log is split in half and prey is often quick to use it for shelter. It's said a strong badger split the log and it has become like a tall-tale to tell kits. |
Tribe of Heather
To the West, the Tribe of Heather is bordered by the Tribe of Strikes across the river and to the South is the Tribe of Breeze. The land is very open and the foliage is high which offers good cover. Patches of rocks and boulders dot the ground which were often created by the earth elemental cats training their powers. The camp entrance is a burrow at the base of a small hill guarded by plant life. The Tribe of Heather has laid claim to a island to the West between the Tribe of Strike and their territory. The small island is often called "The Shoal" or "Sandbar Island" as the water here is shallow and allows easy crossing.
There is a patch where herbs grow a lot skirting the border between the Tribe of Breeze. It's fondly called the "Garden" and the cats often tend to it. Sometimes this rich patch of foliage is fought over between the Tribe of Breeze and the Tribe of Heather as it offers a good supply of herbs.
A prominent patch of dirt and rocks a little to the East is often used for training. It offers an area where they can practice their powers freely with a lot of medium to use. |
Tribe of Breeze
The majority of Breeze Tribe's territory is in a lush forest made up primarily of oak, maple and birch trees. Plant life is vibrant and thick here. To the North they share borders with the Tribe of Heather and the South is the Tribe of Cinders. This puts the Tribe of Breeze in the middle and neighbors to the Tribe of Ripples as well across the river, making tensions high at time. A sandy area to the North skirting Heather Tribe territory is quite large and ideal for training and hunting. A stump in the middle of the territory is a frequent meeting area for the clan and they've dubbed it the "Circle Stump".
Their territory features a fallen birch tree that toppled during a storm. The medicine cat at the time considered it an omen, but it was luckily far enough away from the camp. Apprentices often like to play here as flowers have sprouted up and around the log. Which is what it's quite literally named for as the "Flower Log".
The Tribe of Breeze's camp is nestled within a grove of trees surrounded by a thick barrier of brambles and foliage for protection. |
Tribe of Cinders
The Tribe of Cinders has a small portion of territory on the main land as the majority of their territory is compromised of their island home. The island has sheer cliffs on nearly all sides and is only accessible at the North by a group of islands connecting it to the main land. The portion of territory on the main land is made up of cliffs and has a few trees that are a combination of pine, maple and aspen. The outer edges of their island, dubbed "Jagged Isle" as campfires lining it. These fires are maintained by the fire elemental cats daily to keep lit.
There's a cluster of rocks in a sandy patch on their main land territory they've called "Snagged Rocks". It's used for spars and agility training for apprentices. In the moons of Green-Leaf one must be careful here, however. Snakes use the crannies in the rocks for cover.
Along the side of the island is a set of rocky outcroppings that Cinder Tribe cats use for steps to reach their home. It's recently received the name of "Jumping Stones" and the name as stuck since. |
The Great Blossom
The Great Blossom is a special place for the clans. It's a lone cherry blossom tree on a medium sized island. It's the only tree of it's kind in the lands. During spring, the tree blossoms with beautiful pink flowers that rains down petals near the start of summer.
It's here where the clans come together in a truce for their summoning. The leaders sit on the lowest branch of the tree while their deputies sit upon the roots to the left. To the right sit the medicine cats of each respected clan. The tree has seen many stories and various cats have perched upon it's branches of countless seasons to lead their clans. It is neutral ground. |
Moon Tree
Nestled within the mountains to the North is a cavern. This cavern leads to the most sacred place of all, the Moon Tree. It is here where the cats are closest to their ancestors and may communicate with the Celestials. Shamans and Herbalists gather here for meetings to contact the starry cats.
The only ones allowed to enter the Moon Tree cavern are Overseers, Herbalists and their apprentices respectfully. If any other cat were to venture inside it is seen as disrespectful to the Celestials. There's few tales of what happens to those that have went against this taboo and no one is quite sure what were to happen. Some say that a cat may get their elemental gifts ripped away. |
The Entities Camp
To the West of the territories is the well known Entities Camp. It is unexplored and no tribe cat dares to venture too close. As the name suggest entities live here and keep a variety of strange animals as well.
Occasionally a veiled walker from this place will venture into the territories for one reason or another, but other then that not much happens from this odd place. If any tribe cat were to set foot here it's uncertain what would happen to them. It can be a very dangerous place and most of the clans would rather let it remain an unknown mystery. |
